 Catholic Allies in Truth - Activities Report for July 2013 - December 2013

Various Efforts:

 Participate in monthly Day of Penance & Prayer for bishops and priests.

Preparing for upcoming state legislative session regarding non-negotiable issues. 

Renewed membership in Catholic Media Coalition. 

Assisted Youth Ministry in preparation of "Restless Heart" (St. Augustine film) showing.

Monthly charitable contributions to parish lunches plus to Colorado flood victims.

Letter of appreciation to priests at St. Mary's. 

Promoted St. Michael, the Archangel, and theme of "The Battle Is Real."

     Lg. St. Michael icon donated and placed in Adoration Chapel of Cathedral.

     St. Michael prayer cards distribution continued at three parishes and St. Mary’s School.

     Obtained “The Battle Is Real” bumper stickers and St. Michael, Archangel, mugs.

St. Joseph prayer card created and shared at three parishes.

Note of appreciation to Friar Francisco Nahoe, guest missionary, and his response. 

Participated in Ministry Information Fair at St. Mary’s.               

Participated in coffee socials after morning Masses.

Support of members and potential chapters in Aurora, CO, and Los Angeles, CA.

Encourage work as stated in Spiritual Works of Mercy.  

Our Lady of Perpetual Help icons viewed and discussed.

 Educational Efforts:

 Brief review of Cenacle for Priests materials.

Discussed Change Agents and influence of Alinskyian community organizing on Church.

Showed several Abp. Fulton J. Sheen DVDs to guests.

Synopsis given on book, Worshipping the State by Benjamin Wiker.

Discussions regarding dangers of moral relativism, utopian ideas, socialism, secular humanism, Alinskyian community organizing, etc;

             Subsidiarity as antidote to all forms of collectivism; too often ignored.

             Subsidiarity as a foundational, permanent principle of Catholic social doctrine.   

Discussions of some articles in WY Catholic Register. 

Shared informative essays from various orthodox Catholic sources.

Discussions on Catholic masculinity and its challenges.

Essay entitled Emasculating Jesus posted on website. 

Essay on misuse of donations by charitable entities based on warning of Pope Benedict.

Discussed concerns  about continuing CCHD issues in November.  

Discussed Common Core and its negative influence on schools, incl. Catholic schools.     

            Sent concerns to Bishop Etienne; copied to Deacon Dobelmann; shared  response.

             Shared and discussed Bishop Ricken's comments opposing Common Core.

Discussing potential for book studies, eg. papal documents, early Church Fathers.

 Participated in annual Right-to Life activities in collaboration with
 WYWatch
 Attended Jack Jezreel (Just Faith) appearance at Univ of Wyo., with questions
 Met with Bishop Etienne regarding CAT beliefs and plans
 Assisted with formation of new CAT chapter in Denver

 SPRING
 Consulted with Wyoming ‘Just Faith’ director
 Disseminated information on Acton institute’s ‘Poverty Cure.’
 Monitored local school bullying incidents
 Produced website essay: “What Happened to Catholicism?”
 Sent letter to all U.S. bishops regarding religious liberty stand
 Conducted 8-session book study of New Age Counterfeit
 Joined Catholic Media Coalition

 SUMMER
 Participated in Freedom of Religion rally at state capitol building
 Sent letter to Rep. Paul Ryan, in support of budget policies
 Conducted feasibility study of setting up LPFM Catholic radio station
 Formally organized CAT as 501c-3 nonprofit corporation
 Named board, elected officers and set committees
 Held in-house training session on strategic planning
 Revised mission statement; drafted goals and strategies

 FALL
